It sounds its own alarm and reports to the CarPro‑Tec by radio.
The TriGasPro detects flammable gases and harmful vapours. These include propane and butane from cooking gas, natural gas, town gas, methane and anaesthetic gases, as well as vapours from petrol, ether, alcohol, thinners and glue.
You cannot smell escaping gas while you sleep. That is why the TriGasPro sounds its own alarm and also works without the CarPro-Tec. With the CarPro-Tec, the alarm system goes off as well and you receive a message on your smartphone. When the air is clear again, the detector reports that too.
The alarm threshold can be set between 100 and 10,000 ppm. It runs from a 5 V power adapter, and a backup battery bridges power cuts of up to four hours.
Mounting it correctly
Propane, butane and anaesthetic gases are heavier than air. Mount the TriGasPro no higher than 30 cm above the floor and no further than 3 to 4 m from the possible gas source. Avoid the vicinity of doors, windows and extractor hoods. Hairspray or cooking fumes can trigger an alarm. A combined detector is always a compromise compared with detectors for a single gas.
